What is the act of composition? I see composition as a pilgrimage of self-discovery. Each time a composer creates a piece, they create a work, but a piece is also a fragment. I consider the act of composing as the composer placing a dot, like Georges Seurat placing a dot for pointillism, each dot contributing to a clearer and more vivid portrayal of oneself on the canvas of life.
