Peabody Korean Composers’ night(2024)

Despite there being nearly nine composers in the composition department at Peabody, due to the nature of our work, we rarely have opportunities to collaborate. This inspired me to organize a gathering where composers could come together, not only to create a shared space but also to foster deeper musical and personal connections.

Additionally, I have long admired and deeply respect pianist Jihwan Yoon, whose performance of Obsession I have been eager to hear in person. This concert provides the perfect opportunity to make that happen.

By bringing together Korean composers in one space, we can share our music with one another, offering a rare chance to engage both musically and beyond. I hope this event will serve as a meaningful platform for mutual understanding and artistic exchange.
